In conjunction with the Island of Tuvalu, Perth Mint has released 1oz Silver Coin (99.99% pure silver) honouring the Indian festival of Deepavali. This coin is a legal tender in Tuvalu but not in Australia. Perth Mint will produce only 5000 of them.

One side of the coin features beautifully enamelled coloured representation of Goddess Lakshmi sitting on a lotus flower with gold coins pouring out of her hands.

The design includes the inscription of “Happy Diwali” and Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mark. Goddess Lakshmi is designed by Jennifer McKenna. The coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination and the 2017 year-date.

The buyers will get the coin in presentation packaging, housed in a contemporary latex case which displays both sides of the coin and is accompanied by a numbered certificate of Authenticity, which will make a perfect gift for Diwali.
