Guftagu with Gulzar Sahab
Gulzar is the pen name of Sampooran Singh Karla, Indian poet and lyricist. He started his music career with S.D.Burman as a lyricist with the movie Bandini. 1968, Hindi movie Ashirvad had both dialogues and lyrics written by Gulzar. He had worked with almost all main music directors of Hindi cinema which includes, Rahul Dev Burman. Sachin Dev Burman, Shankar Jaikishan, Hemant Kumar, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Madan Mohan, Rajesh Roshan, and Anu Malik. In 1971 he directed his first film “mere apne”. He was once married to actress Rakhee Majumdar.
