Mr Kadir ,Managing Director of “Symphony Entertainers” the organiser of the event and has the authority to access all the transactions, left for India to finalise the TV contracts, has not reached the destination as expected on Friday evening ( 13/09/2013 Indian Time) .

Family members have lodged a complaint with the NSW police and waiting for answers and concerned about his on going health condition which requires treatment every other day at hospital.

Below is the explanation given by Symphony Entertainers for cancelling the Sydney Ilayaraja  show

Dear All

I was on my way to Chennai to finalise the last minute TV deal and while transiting in Bangkok Airport suffered a angina pain, and was rushed to the hospital.

My personal effects were ceased by the airport authority and were handed backed to me when I departed . The moment I regained conscious I advised the hospital to send email to my wife and friend in Sydney. I just landed in Sydney and will be in touch with you with regard to the show & tickets. As you all aware the Sydney Show is cancelled due to the circumstances above and refunds for all paid ticket will take place in due course.

A brief Introduction to Music Maestro Ilayaraja

Ilaiyaraaja or ilaya raja was born as Gnanadesikan in Pannaipuram , Theni district in Tamil Nadu, India on 2nd June 1943.  But in his school register his name is Rajaiya . In his first movie Annakili , Tamil producer Panchu Arunachalam added Ilaya as prefix in his name Raaja and named him ilaiyaraaja ( which roughly means ‘ young Raja’ ) . The reason for the change was that in the 70’s there was one more music director named A.M.Rajah.
Ilaya raja and his late wife Jeeva together  has three children and all are music composers. They are Karthik Raja, Yuvan Shankar Raja and Bhavatharini. The famous music director and lyricist Gangai Amaran is Ilaya Raja’s Brother
At the age of 14 Ilayaraja joined a travelling music troup by Pavalar Varadarajan and spend the next decade performing throughout in South India. Ilaya Raja studied music from Dhanraj master in Chennai. He specialised in classical guitar and had taken a course in it at the Trinity College of Music in London.
After working as a guitarist, keyboardist and organist for film composers for many years he worked with Kannada film composer G.K .Venketesh , mostly in the Kannada language. His first break as an independent composer came with the film Annakkili in 1975. Ilaya Raja is regarded as one of the finest music composers in India.
Ilaya Raja is a  gold medalist in classical guitar from Trinity College of Music, London, in 1993
He organised a full symphony and thus became the first Asian to compose a full symphony performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London’s Walthamstow Town Hall
He has won four Indian National Film Awards; three for Best Music Direction and one for Best Background Score
Ilaya Raja is a recipient of the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award from the Government of India.
He also received the NTR National Award in 2004.
In 2012 he received the Sangeet Natak Academi Award for his creative and experimental works in music field.
In a poll conducted by CNN-IBN celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema in 2013, Ilaiyaraaja was voted as the greatest music composer of India with a maximum of 49%.
These awards, Ilaya Raja received only enhanced the respectability of those awards and by being a recipient he has done a favour to them.
