Azhar, the movie is directed by Tony D Souza based on the life of Indian Cricketer Mohammed Azharudheen. Azharuddin was implicated in a cricket match-fixing scandal in 2000, and banned by BCCI for life on 8 November 2012. Though the Andhra Pradesh High Court lifted the ban later, for Indians Azharudheen will always remain a corrupt Cricketer . In 2009 Indian National Congress gave him ticket to contest the Moradabad constituency after realising the fact that Politics is the best place for someone who will do anything to make some bucks.
The film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Sony Pictures Networks, it features Emraan Hashmi,Karanvir Sharma, Nargis Fakhri and Prachi Desai in the lead roles.
