Indian language classes in NSW by Department of Education
This Government program to provide an opportunity for children to learn community languages include many of the Indian languages too. The Saturday School community languages Program gives students the opportunity to study the language they speak at home, if that language study is not offered in their weekday school. Learning opportunities are provided in 24 languages.
In the 2015 list of languages Hindi, Bengali and Punjabi are included.
These are the centres and languages for 2015
Hindi and Punjabi – The Hills Sports High School
Bengali and Hindi – Liverpool Girls High School
Bengali – Dulwich Centre, Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design
Students can enrol for 2016. Contact details are below. The languages and the centres may change for next year. More Indian languages could be included .Visit the program website for more details. This information is given here for guidance only.
Enrollment information and application forms are available from principals of all public and non-government secondary schools and TAFE colleges in Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong or by downloading them from the website. New enrollment forms must be submitted through the student’s mainstream school.
