Indian Man suffers serious burns after car fire spreads to house in Truganina in Melbourne
An Indian man, Robbie Singh, has been taken to hospital with serious burns after a car caught fire and flames spread to his home this morning. Firefighters were called to the Truganina home, in Romek Way, at 10.27am to reports of a car and house fire.
It is believed the car was alight and the fire spread to the nearby home. The man was taken to hospital with serious burn injuries however his partner and two children escaped unhurt.
Victoria Police said a man was carrying out maintenance on his car on the driveway of his home near the garage when it became engulfed in flames. “The fire is not being treated as suspicious,” Leading Senior Constable Melissa Seach said.
A spokeswoman for the CFA said the fire took 20 minutes to bring under control with 25 firefighters in attendance.
An investigation is under way into the cause of the fire.
