Uttama Villain Kamal Haasan’s Tamil Movie in Australia (Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide)

Australian Indians are eagerly waiting for Kamal Hassan’s Tamil Movie Uttama Villain. Movie Uttama Villain will be screened in all major capital cities in Australia including Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide. The cast of the movie include Kamal Hasan, Jayaram, , Andrea Jeremiah, Pooja Kumar, Nassar, Parvathi, Parvathy Nair and Urvashi. The film is directed by Ramesh Arvind and produced by N. Lingu Sami in Association with Kamal Haasan.

The ground works for the movie began in early 2013. The early working title of the film was bitter chocolate but the name was later changed to Uttama Villain. The movie Uttama Villain is expected to make good collection in Australia especially in Melbourne and Sydney where there are large population of Tamils reside. Kamal Haasan has written the script for the movie and was fully intend to direct the movie, but later Ramesh Aravind took over the role of the director. Crazy Mohan also contributed a little bit in the script. Initially Yuvan Shankar Raja was signed to compose music for the movie. It was later announced that M. Ghibran, who had worked with Kamal Haasan in Vishwaroopam II, would compose music for the film instead of Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Kajol Aggarwal was reported to have signed to play the lead female role. Tamanaah and Trisha were also considered for the other two female roles. Because of the date conflict those roles were went to Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah and Parvathi. Actress Abhirami, and old time favourite of Kamal Hassan was selected to dub for Pooja Kumar in the film.

The movie shooting began in 3rd March 2014 in Bangalore. Then the team moved on to Chennai. Parts of the film were shot in Madhya Pradesh. Australia was considered as a preferred location for shooting song scenes. But at the insistence of Kamal Hasaan the location was changed to Turkey. Many scenes in the film, including a song featuring Kamal Haasan and Pooja Kumar was consequently shot in Istanbul. The cast performed night rehearsals to get their expressions and dialogues right.

The audio rights of the movie were acquired by Sony Music India. Kamal Hassan bought musical instruments for the movie from Indonesia for recoding a mythical sounding song.
